New Lead Coach Appointed 26 April 2024
Leicestershire & Rutland Junior Hockey are pleased to announce the appointment of Henry Harrison as their Lead Coach from 1st May 2024
Henry will use his vast experience to provide a more structured coaching program following the England Hockey Talent System Framework, finding the super strength in everyone.
He started his playing career at Surbiton before spending 5 years playing for and coaching Bournemouth University. He then spent 13 years at Rugby & East Warwickshire as player, captain and coach. Currently Henry is player/coach at Leicester HC having gained two promotions in three seasons.
On the Coaching front Henry started working with England Hockey in 2009. He has been Head Coach for 3 girls and 2 boys Mercia Lynx teams and subsequently has been heavily involved in the setting up of the Talent Academy in Birmingham. He has supported the National Age Group selection program, having most recently run Talent Development Forums which has led him to mentor four Talent Centre Clubs in the Midlands. Henry completed his Advanced Coach Program with England Hockey followed by Coach 4 Europe Program run by Euro Hockey involving much sharing of knowledge with European coaches.
